The ranges of Boreal Chickadee and Gray-headed Chickadee overlap in Alaska and northwestern Canada, but Gray-headed Chickadee is rare in North America, and the two species aren’t known to occur together. Boreal Chickadee has a gray nape and much more limited white on the face than Gray-headed Chickadee. Boreal Chickadee also has plain gray wings, lacking the white feather edging found on the wings of Gray-headed Chickadee.
