Victoria Bird Week

May 10, 2025 May 17, 2025

RPBO is proud to present the 5th Annual Victoria Bird Week!

Victoria Bird Week 2025 begins on Saturday, May 10th with a World Migratory Bird Day celebration. World Migratory Bird Day is a yearly international celebration of birds across the globe and is coordinated by Environment for the Americas.

Every year, billions of migratory birds take flight, crossing vast oceans, high mountain ranges, and sprawling urban landscapes in search of survival. But as cities expand and human activity reshapes our planet, their journeys grow more perilous. This World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD), celebrated around the theme “Shared Spaces: Creating Bird-Friendly Cities and Communities,” we are reminded not just of the beauty these birds bring but of the responsibility we have to protect them.

Our World Migratory Bird Day event will be taking place on May 10, where we will be leading bird walks, sharing information about local bird species, and offering fun games, coloring pages, and activities for younger community members. Registration is encouraged in advance to secure your spot on our bird walks. Details can be found at rpbo.org.

Whether you’re a devoted birdwatcher or someone who cares deeply about biodiversity, there’s a role for everyone in building cities and communities where birds can thrive alongside us.

Victoria Bird Week will be full of birding activities and resources for bird lovers! There will be exciting online guest speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise on avian communities throughout the week, so be sure to watch our website for more information and registration links. We will also be offering various workshops, bird walks, and other birding experiences.

Visit our website for upcoming information about WMBD, Victoria Bird Week, and registration opportunities to participate.
