Rangeley Birding Festival

June 5, 2025 June 8, 2025

From Boreal Chickadees in our vast forests to Loons on our magnificent lakes to the rare Bicknell’s Thrush in the high peaks above, the Rangeley Region is rich with birds. Add in both migrating and breeding warblers, and you have a unique opportunity to see and learn about birds that are difficult to find in other parts of Maine, all in one weekend!

The Rangeley Lakes region is the premier birding destination for rare and sought-after species in New England. Deep in the heart of Maine’s lush boreal forest, Rangeley provides a convenient hub to find northern specialties like Black-backed Woodpecker, Bicknell’s Thrush, Spruce Grouse, and Boreal Chickadee, as well as breeding warblers including Cape May, Bay-breasted, and Mourning. While other festivals hope to catch birds as they migrate through, in Rangeley they’ve reached their destination and are on territory. No other festival in New England provides such convenient access to so many boreal birds.

The festival features top-notch guides, birdwatching on trails and the Kennebago River by canoe or kayak, and an eBird presentation.
